Day two of the 2025 Panamerican & Oceania Judo Championships in Lima, Peru, saw Oceania’s Junior athletes rise to the challenge against top-level competition from the Americas and beyond.

With a blend of determination and technical skill, our young judoka proudly represented the region, gaining valuable international experience and achieving strong results.

Australia – 5th Place Overall

Australia delivered another impressive team performance, finishing 5th overall in the junior standings behind Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, and the United States.

🥈 Silver – Rika Hirose (Women’s Under 48kg)
Backing up her gold medal in the cadet division, Rika continued her outstanding campaign with a silver medal at the junior level.

🥈 Silver – Callie Bannister (Women’s Under 52kg)
Callie impressed with a strong run to the final, securing a well-earned silver medal.

5th – Alannah Joyce (Women’s Under 78kg)

7th – Carstens Beyers (Men’s Under 90kg)

New Zealand & French Polynesia

While athletes from New Zealand and French Polynesia did not place on Day 2, their continued presence at this high-performance event reflects the growing reach and commitment of judo programs across Oceania.
