The Oceania Judo Union (OJU) proudly congratulates Mr. Marius Vizer on his re-election as President of the International Judo Federation (IJF). His continued leadership brings vital stability and vision to the global judo community, and we look forward to the next chapter under his guidance.

During the IJF Congress, held as part of the 2025 OTP Bank World Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary, OJU President Kate Corkery delivered a presentation on Oceania’s recent progress and strategic direction. Her report was anchored in the core values of judo and the resilient, community-driven spirit of our region.

Key Themes from the OJU Report:

The newly elected OJU Executive is embracing its role with integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to serving all member nations.

🥋 Courage & Resilience
Despite ongoing environmental and logistical challenges across our vast region, the Oceania judo community continues to respond with innovation, unity, and determination.

🥋 Friendship & Collaboration
Stronger ties with the Pan-American Judo Confederation (PJC) demonstrate our commitment to intercontinental cooperation, building a united front for development ahead of LA28 and Brisbane 2032.

🥋 Sincerity in Growth
Events such as the Mandurah Oceania Open, the Tahiti Oceania Open, and earlier tournaments held in Perth showcase the genuine passion and growth of our athletes, coaches, and organisers.

🥋 Modesty & Forward Vision
With a clear focus on development, gender equity, and grassroots inclusion, the OJU remains committed to sustainable progress through long-term, inclusive efforts and world-class event delivery.
