The Oceania Judo Union extends its sincere thanks to the Local Organising Committee for their outstanding work in delivering another successful Oceania Open event, held from 1-2 November 2025 weekend at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia.
Led by Mr. Simon Read, President of Judo Australia, the Local Organising Committee once again demonstrated exceptional capability and professionalism in hosting a world-class international judo event. Mr. Read has played an integral role in the delivery of Oceania Open events since their inception in Australia, providing steady leadership and extensive experience to ensure smooth operations, athlete safety, and an exceptional experience for all participants.
The OJU also expresses its deep appreciation to the volunteers, referees, technical officials, medical staff, and organising partners who gave their time and expertise to make the event possible. Their dedication and teamwork continue to exemplify the spirit of the judo community across Oceania.
This year’s event brought together athletes from over twenty countries, delivering an exciting showcase of judo at the highest level. The successful delivery of the 2025 Gold Coast Oceania Open reinforces Australia’s strong capacity to host high-calibre international events, supported by experienced organisers and a passionate regional network of judo professionals and volunteers.
The Oceania Judo Union congratulates all involved and looks forward to continuing to build on this success in future events.
