The 2026 Mandurah Oceania Open & Cup concluded on Sunday, 3 May at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre, with the Cadet and Junior Men’s and Women’s divisions bringing the weekend of international judo to a close.

Following the senior competition on Day 1, the second day of competition shifted focus to the next generation of athletes, with Cadet and Junior competitors taking to the tatami in Mandurah.

The day began with the Cadet divisions, featuring 41 athletes from 7 countries. Australia finished on top of the Cadet medal table, while athletes from Hong Kong China, Mexico, the Russian Federation, Singapore, New Caledonia and Saudi Arabia also delivered strong performances across the divisions.

The Junior competition followed, with 53 athletes from 9 countries competing across the men’s and women’s categories. Australia again led the medal table, continuing a successful day for the host nation. Athletes from Hong Kong China, New Zealand, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Mexico, New Caledonia and the Russian Federation also featured among the results.

Across both age groups, Day 2 showcased an exciting standard of international judo and provided valuable competition experience for emerging athletes from across Oceania and beyond.

The Cadet and Junior competitions reflected the importance of development opportunities within the region, giving young athletes the chance to test themselves against international opposition in a high-quality competition environment.
